Skiing New Year

You finished the the turkey, all the Christmas pudding, so do you now spend the next week, your vacation time, trawling the January Sales buying what people didn't want before Christmas, or do you jump on the next flight and get in some great skiing over the New Year? I guess as a male the choice is a simple one, as it would be for my wife, forget the sales, here's a chance to get some fresh air, sunshine, powder, and ski New Years Eve!

I for one find this one of the best times to ski, Christmas is out of the way, the family get together all complete, and now its 'me time', and in our case this means our family of four, and a chance to blast around the mountains and enjoy some early skiing.

Skiing New Year will of course be busy, but if you ski New Year in the high resorts such as Chamonix,  Verbier, the Three Valleys (Courchevel, Meribel, and Val Thorens), or Espace d'Killy (Tignes and Val d'Isere), then you have the extensive networks to ensure the slopes aren't too crowded as they can be in lower resorts that become more congested as skiers go higher to get the best snow.

So get in early and get the best New Year chalets before the people in the know get there first!
