Ski New Year

Demand generally for the 2011 ski season appears high as despite the Euro zone issues, and yesterdays tough budget, skiers are slowly gaining faith regarding the economy and their own financial situation. It would of course be wrong to suggest the ski industry is out of the worst, but early signs are extremely positive.

It has to be said however that the New Year ski holidays were without question the one week that didn't seem to be affected by the downturn, followed closely by the half term ski week. With demand generally on the up this looks set to continue this year and whilst June and July are generally quiet on the booking front, operators are expecting a brisk business in sales during August and September as skiers capture the last remaining chalets.

Skiers looking for last minute New Year ski deals are however warned that they are unlikely to find much, if anything out there as this is certainly one week at least where prices rise as you get closer to New Year as demand always outstrips supply.
